Urban Decay Naked 3 Review!
So, just before Christmas here in the UK, word got out that the UD Naked palette 3 was about to be released. I think this might well of been the most excited I’ve ever been in my life about an eyeshadow palette! Of course i had to get it right away, so went straight down to House of Fraser the day it came out to get one of these bad boys. Obviously it was a tad hectic, being Christmas, so I’m now happy to say i have some time to share this with you guys!
Naked 3 is the third in the UD line of these palettes. I know, i know, how many neutral palettes does one actually need? But it’s really quite beautiful and i cant imagine my life without it! It is pink and gold toned so perfect for my pasty white complexion, though i do think this would also look amazing on darker skin tones. All the colours are brand new and pretty unlike the shades in the Naked 1 and 2. This is the first time UD have ever done a palette where every single colour is brand new. Which is amazing if, like me, you have a tonne of their other palettes! There’s a great spectrum of colours so you can create masses of totally awesome looks. The eye shadows, as now to be expected by UD, are ridiculously pigmented and go on really smoothly. The packaging is strong and sturdy, like the Naked 2, but the colour is more rose gold to represent the colours inside a bit better.
Strange – a pale neutral pink matte-satin. This colour is pretty matte but it does have a very slight sheen to it, it’s not at all frosty though, which i love. It has a very subtle pink hue to it.
Dust – a pale metallic pink shimmer with iridescent micro-glitter. This is one of my favourites, it has a slight peach tone to it and the micro glitter is totally gorgeous.
Burnout – a light pinky-peach satin. This one is definitely more peachy than dust, it’s a lovely shade, though i believe it to be slightly more shimmery than a standard satin. Just slightly though!
Limit – a light dusty rose matte. This one is so smooth and definitely a staple for the palette, i don’t believe i actually own a pinky toned brown, so I’m very please with this one.
Buzz –a metallic rose shimmer with silver micro-glitter. This is another favourite of mine. It’s a real stunner. The micro glitter really stands out in this one and is a perfect rose shade.
Trick – a light metallic pinky-copper shimmer with tonal micro-sparkle. This colour is very much a gold, the micro-sparkle consists of very VERY light pink, silver and gold flexes and it’s not too yellowy.
Nooner – a medium pinky-brown matte. Similar to limit but a bit darker and has more of a brown tone. Again, applies smooth and is another great matte.
Liar – a medium metallic mauve shimmer. This shade has a pretty neutral brown base colour, it’s in the shimmer where you can see subtle hints of mauve and gold. A beautiful colour.
Factory – a pinky-brown satin. Similar to liar, I’d say this actually looked more shimmery than liar though it’s supposed to just be a satin. It also has slightly more of a gold tone. The element of pink is very subtle, but well done.
Mugshot – a metallic taupe shimmer with slight pink shift. I’d say this colour has the least pink tone to it. I can hardly see it unless i move the swatch on my hand back and fourth. However, the colour pay off is awesome.
Darkside –a deep taupe-mauve satin. Again this colour is probably too frosty to be classed as a satin, but it’s really unique. This has a kind of taupe mushroom colour with a rose gold shimmer over it.
Blackheart – a smoky black matte with rosy red micro-sparkle. The swatch of this colour really doesn’t do it justice. It’s awesome. It’s definitely a smokey black rather than a strong, harsh black, which i quite like. The only thing with the micro-sparkle is that it doesn’t stay on that well. I tried this on it’s own and again with a sticky base and it seems better with the base. I’d suggest adding your own red glitter to make it really stand out. It’s a gorgeous colour regardless though.
As well as these amazing shades, the palette i got also came with a double ended eyeshadow/ blending brush of very good quality as usual, and an eyeshadow primer potion sampler with four versions of the stuff: original, Sin, Eden and Anti-Ageing. UD reckon they each last a week, i agree!
So to summarise, i think even if, like myself, you have Naked 1 and 2, it’s definitely still worth getting this palette. The colours have amazing colour pay off and go on so smooth And you get a brush and a one month trial of the primer so if your sceptical you can give that a whirl. Though it is the most amazing one I’ve ever tried! It has literally lasted me 24 hours before! (Yes, I’m naughty and slept in my make up, I’m sorry, it was one time!)
Here’s a quick look i created with this palette.

*Dust. Base lid colour and lower lash line
